Sorry for the late review. I've been a little bit busy. A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first book in a series about faeries. A lot of people say that it is a "Beauty and the Beast" retelling and i see it. We Start the book with our Main character, Feyre, hunting in the woods. She talks about how the fae are dangerous and that the only thing separating the fae from her village is a wall. Feyre shoots a Wolf or so she thinks and then goes home. Feyre lives with her two sisters, Nesta and Elain, and her father. Feyre is the youngest and only person willing to go hunt for food so that their family doesn't starve. A few days pass by and then a faerie comes knocking at the door asking for the person who shot his friend, who was the wolf. After a while of them agrueing Feyre admits that she shot the wolf and agrees to go with the faerie over the wall to Prythian. Once they get to the Spring court you start to really see how it is like "Beauty and the Beast". Feyre is afraid the eat the food in Prythian because she thinks it will do something to her. She and Tamlin, Which was the Faerie who came to their house argue for a little bit and then he has one of his maids take her to a room and clean her up, when she gets done she goes back to the dining room and finds someone else there. He doesn't like that Feyre is here. After a while of arguments and illusions Feyre finally decides to eat. I won't go any further in Talking about the plot because i don't want to spoil the book if you decide to read it. First let's talk about the character I hate the most. I really did not like Tamlin. There are some serious red flags towards the end of book that i cannot ignore. I won't tell you what they are but trust me, if you read the book you will notice. Now, i had a little bit of prior knowledge that Tamlin is kind of a Jerk and extremely abusive to Feyre in other books. I think that's what made the red flags impossible to ignore. I think my favorite character is Alis. Yeah, I picking the side character as my favorite mostly because i think there are some serious problems with the main characters in this book. I did not like Tamlin and Feyre as a ship. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I Have read the second book in the series and will be uploading that review next week.
