I decided to try some different on my blog to see how well they do and one of them is a monthly reading wrap up. I will going through all the books I have read this month and briefly talking about them.
I have decided to post three days a week starting the day I post this. Since it’s summer and I don’t have school I decided that I should post a little bit more often then every Friday.
Graceling by: Kristin Cashore
Graceling exist in a world where some people have graces. Graces are these specials abilities like fighting, mind reading and many more. Our protagonist, Katsa is graced with killing and she works for her uncle the king.
what I really like about this book series is that really if you wanted to you could start at any point in the series. I gave this a 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
2. Fire by: Kristin Cashore
Fire is the second book in the Graceling Realm series, but its not the direct sequel to Graceling. Fire takes place in another part the the Graceling Realm world where they are these monsters that can control you with their minds. Fire is the main protagonist in this book. She is a monster herself ,but she wishes she wasn’t. When her kingdom is at war. She is called to use her monsterous abilities to help.
I wasn‘t expecting to like this book as much as graceling, but I did. I gave this a 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
3. A Curse so Dark and Lonely by: Brigid Kemmerer
A Curse so dark and Lonely is a beauty and the beast retelling. This Retelling follows Harper, a girl with Cerebral Palsy from Washington D.C and Rhen, a prince who was cursed to repeat his 18 year over and over again until he finds and women who loves him.
I have Been reading a lot of beauty and the beast retellings and I really like this one except it was very similar to A Court of Thorns and Roses. I gave this a 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
4. A Heart so Fierce and Broken by: Brigid
Kemmerer
A Heart so Fierce and Broken is the second book in the cursebreakers series. This Book follows Grey, the ex- commander of Prince Rhen‘s army and Lia Mara a princess from a rival land.
I will says that this books was kind of disappointing. I was really excited to get grays point of view ,but I was also kind of hoping to still get Rhen and Harper’s. I gave this a 🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
5. A Vow so Bold and Deadly by: Brigid Kemmerer
A Vow so Bold and Deadly is the final book in the Cursebreakers series. In this book we follow Harper, Prince Rhen, Grey and Lia Mara.
This book definitely made up for the last one. Old villains came back and there were wars to be fought. I gave this a 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
6.Bone Criers Moon by: Kathryn Purdie
This is the last book for this month. I am currently reading two other books that I know I won’t have time to finish before the end of this month.
Bone Criers are the people who keep the dead from preying on the lives of the living. They get their powers from animals bone. Bastien‘s father was killed in one of the Bone Criers most sacred rituals and now he wants revenge.
In my opinion, this book was okay. At the beginning it was really hard to get into, but toward the end I really liked it. I gave this book a 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
I will be writing full length reviews for all of these in the next few months so keep an eye out for those. Follow me on insta @extremelybookish123. comment any book recommendations below. Happy Reading!!!!
