My Plain Jane is a very different version of "Jane Eyre". Just like the original version, Jane goes to work as a governess (Teacher) at Thornfield Hall and Falls in love with Mr. Rochester despite the age difference. In this version, Jane has the ability see ghost and Mr. Rochester is not what he seems. I have been reading a lot of books that have taken place in Victorian England lately. If you like to read books like that this book is definitely a book for you. One of my favorite characters is Charlotte Bronte who is actually the author of the original "Jane Eyre" novel. At the beginning of the book she starts writing a novel and you start to realize as you read the book that she is actually writing "Jane Eyre". I love reading retelling of classic stories like The Lunar chronicles and Heartless, but those are more of a fantasy book then they are the original story. This story is a little more realistic, despite Jane Eyre being able to see ghosts. I also really love the notes in the parenthesis that gave facts about the time period. The story starts slow but I really loved reading this book and will be reading the rest of the series. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
