Siege and Storm is the second book in the Shadow and Bone trilogy. I kind of had the same problem with Siege and Storm that I did with Shadow and Bone where the pacing was a little bit slow at first. I thought it was really interesting to kind of see Alina slowly change over the course of the book, due to her having two amplifiers. One of my favorite characters of this entire book was Strumhond aka. Nikolai. I liked that he was not the type of prince that lies about and does nothing. I also like how he is the only member of his family that is actually somewhat productive when it comes to defeating the Darkling. I also liked how you could notice the distance between Mal and Alina throughout the book, Which brings me to My favorite ship of the entire book. Alina and Mal, though I feel like we got less of them together than in the first book, I liked seeing them living a somewhat normal life at the beginning of the book. One thing I didn't like, besides the slow pacing at the beginning of the book was how little of the book the darkling was in. I feel like you need to have the antagonist in more of the book then just a few chapters. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I will be uploading my review of Ruin and Rising the conclusion to the Shadow and Bone trilogy next week.
